The treatment can cause some discomfort around the injection site and can be performed with topical numbing ointments. Patients may experience redness, some swelling, and minor bruising, which usually subside after 14 days. We recommend staying away from taking anti-inflammatory drugs 4 to 5 days prior to the procedure.
How long do the results last?
Just like with any other dermal filler, the effect from Juvederm® injections is not permanent and usually lasts between 6 months and one year, depending on the injected volume and size of the treated area.
Aftercare:
- Avoid strenuous physical activity after the treatment as it can intensify the swelling and bruising
- Avoid excessive heat, such as hot baths and saunas
- Apply SPF at least once a day and try to stay away from direct sunlight
- We recommend not wearing makeup for at least 24 to 48 hours after the procedure
