Exfoliation is one of the key ways of keeping your face looking bright, radiant, and smooth. It is important to regularly remove the dead skin cells to prevent blackheads, breakouts, and premature aging. Mechanical exfoliation can be very damaging to the skin because it causes micro-tears in the epidermis, putting you at risk of irritation, redness, and unwanted inflammation. Chemical peels can be a great tool for maintaining the healthy glow of your face while combating uneven texture and discoloration.
What is Vitalize Peel®?
Vitalize Peel® is one of SkinMedica's® most popular peels for dealing with a rough texture and fine lines. The treatment is suitable for all skin types and relies on Salicylic and Lactic acids, which soften the surface of the skin, dissolve dead skin cells, and deeply cleanse the pores from within. The formula also contains a Retinol solution – one of the most effective topical solutions for fighting the signs of aging. Vitalize Peel® is designed for dealing with visible imperfections, such as rough texture, uneven skin tone, and clogged pores, as well as helping to combat fine lines. This treatment is perfect for clients with mild-to-moderate skin concerns, such as sunspots and fine lines. Other benefits include:
Suitable for all skin types,
Noticeable results after just one peel, significant results after three to six peels
Helps to improve acne, hyperpigmentation, and melasma
Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles
We recommend getting Vitalize Peel® every 3-4 weeks to achieve and maintain maximum results.
What can you expect from the procedure?
The whole treatment lasts around 45 minutes, including the consultation. Everyone’s skin has a different reaction to the formula, however, slight tingling and burning should be expected. Your skin is likely to have a slight yellow tint immediately after the procedure, but the color should subside after 2 or 3 hours. Some redness and peeling are normal.
Chemical peels make your skin very vulnerable to sunlight, so we recommend wearing daily full spectrum SPF. Your post-treatment skin care routine should include gentle cleansers and creams. Try to stay away from using retinoids or acidic cosmetic products for a couple of weeks after the peel to reduce the risk of irritation.
