As the skin ages, it gradually loses its restorative potential and produces smaller amounts of collagen, which results in the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Filler injections add volume to the naturally formed creases and folds on your face, which can help you maintain a smoother youthful appearance.
What is Juvederm®?
Juvederm® is an injectable dermal filler, derived from hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that is naturally produced within your body and is widely used by the cosmetic industry in topical skin treatments, such as creams and serums, for intense hydration. Juvederm® is a smooth viscous gel that attracts and retains water, replenishing your skin from within and increasing its volume. This treatment can instantly improve the appearance of smile lines, restore lost volume to the cheeks and jaw, as well as enhance the volume and shape of your lips without looking unnatural or limiting facial movements.
Significant reduction of fine-to-deep static wrinkles
Adding volume to the lips, cheeks, and tear troughs
Correction of jowls, vertical lip lines, mouth creases, and nasolabial folds
Delivers additional hydration to deeper layers of the skin
The treatment can cause some discomfort around the injection site and can be performed with topical numbing ointments. Patients may experience redness, some swelling, and minor bruising, which usually subside after 14 days. We recommend staying away from taking anti-inflammatory drugs 4 to 5 days prior to the procedure.
How long do the results last?
Just like with any other dermal filler, the effect from Juvederm® injections is not permanent and usually lasts between 6 months and one year, depending on the injected volume and size of the treated area.
- Avoid strenuous physical activity after the treatment as it can intensify the swelling and bruising
- Avoid excessive heat, such as hot baths and saunas
- Apply SPF at least once a day and try to stay away from direct sunlight
- We recommend not wearing makeup for at least 24 to 48 hours after the procedure
