What is Juvederm® Ultra Plus?
Just like any dermal filler from the Juvederm® product line, Juvederm® Ultra Plus is a smooth gel derived from hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring sugar in our body, which is responsible for keeping our skin plump and hydrated. Juvederm® Ultra Plus formula is thicker than the other versions of this filler, making it perfect for treating deeper wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines, without losing the natural mobility of the face. This formula can also be used to restore the contours of the face and achieve a non-surgical facelift effect just with a few carefully placed injections.

What to expect from the procedure?
The average treatment lasts between 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the size and depth of the affected area. Patients may feel some discomfort at the moment of injection, however, the formula contains lidocaine, an anesthetic, to reduce any painful sensations. Patients may experience redness, some swelling, and minor bruising, which usually subside after 14 days. We recommend staying away from taking anti-inflammatory drugs 4 to 5 days before the procedure.
How long does the effect last?
Just like with any other dermal filler, the effect from Juvederm® Ultra Plus injections is not permanent and usually lasts between 6 months and one year, depending on the injected volume and size of the treated area.
Aftercare:
- Avoid strenuous physical activity after the treatment as it can intensify the swelling and bruising
- Avoid exposure to excessive heat, such as hot baths and saunas
- Wear full spectrum SPF and try to stay away from direct sunlight
- We recommend not wearing makeup for at least 24 to 48 hours after the procedure
