What is Fractional Skin Resurfacing?
Fractional Skin Resurfacing is a unique laser procedure, which activates your skin’s restorative processes to reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and scarring. We use a unique Cynosure Icon® System, which delivers the benefits of both Intense Pulsed Light and a Fractional Laser. The device sends light beams of various intensities into your skin to boost collagen production in your skin and treat multiple skin concerns at once. The system is optimized with patented High Peak Power technology to deliver maximum results in the minimum amount of treatments and Advanced Contact Cooling™ for increased comfort during the procedure.
We use a combination of MaxG IPL handpiece and the 1540 handpiece as a part of the Three For Me treatment to target signs of aging, visible veins, and hyperpigmentation. Each handpiece has a built-in melanin reader, which instantly determines the right laser intensity for your skin. Together, these two forms of light create a powerful combination that restores the youthful glow without fillers.
What can you expect from the procedure?
This gentle and non-invasive treatment normally lasts for 30 minutes, but time and intensity can be adjusted depending on the intensity of the client's skin concerns. The Advanced Contact Cooling™ system, reduces any painful sensations that might appear due to the heating of the device.
Some redness and sensitivity immediately after the procedure are normal. These symptoms subside within a few hours and you will require no downtime.
We recommend you pause the use of any topical prescription treatments, such as strong retinoids or acne medication for at least 1-2 weeks before the procedure to reduce the risk of sensitivity and irritation.
It is recommended to let your skin recover for at least 3 weeks before booking a follow-up appointment.
Who can benefit from Fractional Skin Resurfacing?
This treatment is universally beneficial for all skin tones and all skin types. It is perfect for clients who are looking to achieve smooth and healthy-looking skin, diminish visible signs of aging, and reduce the appearance of veins under the skin. This procedure can also be beneficial for people struggling with acne and rosacea.
However, we do not recommend this treatment to clients that are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Aftercare:
- Avoid touching or rubbing the area for at least 6 hours after the treatment, as it can slow down the healing process
- Your skin will be vulnerable to sun damage after the treatment, so we recommend applying SPF daily
- Limit the use of harsh topical treatments, such as acids and retinoids for 1-2 weeks
